- The EMDR Institute, directed by Francine Shapiro, Ph.D., has information about the clinical application of EMDR. It offers two levels of training worldwide. Attendance is limited to mental health professionals who have a masters degree or higher in the mental health field in which they are licensed for independent practice.
- EMDRIA, The International EMDR Association, based in Austin Texas, has a public directory of EMDR therapists all over the world, and information about conferences, research support, and for-credit trainings and specialty workshops.
- EMDRAC, the Canadian EMDR Association, has a public directory for EMDR therapists in Canada, plus conference and training information.
Software for EMDR bilateral stimulation
Technological innovations and software programs have increased the choices for dual attention stimulation.
- At Neurolateral.com you will find a software program with an appealing array of client-friendly bilateral stimulation options. Developed by Heather Pearson, M.D., F.R.C.P., EMDR Institute Facilitator and EMDRIA Approved Consultant.
- Go to Cornucopia Software to download a software program called There & Back. This 2.3 MB program runs from windows computers and provides alternating bilateral stimulation in several sensory modalities. Developed by Phil Manfield, Ph.D, EMDR Institute facilitator and EMDRIA Regional Coordinator.
Trauma resources
- The award-winning site, Trauma Information Pages, has the most comprehensive collection of trauma-related resources and information ever — an outstanding contribution by David Baldwin, Ph.D. and my favorite source for research.

Edward Josephs, Ph.D. and Lynne Zettl, Ph.D. offer training programs in self-regulation therapy from a strong foundation in neurophysiology and somatic therapy.
Positive psychotherapy
- At Authentic Happiness you will find Dr. Martin Seligman's work in positive psychology, many self-evaluation rating scales, and an inspiring philosophy about life and living.
- Sam Foster, Ph.D., EMDR Institute trainer and consultant, now based in Italy, has a website describing her work in Peak Performance applications of EMDR, coaching, and consultation.
- At Dr. Ed Diener's home page read about his research in subjective well being.
- At Psychotherapist.org Judy Lightstone, MFT, EMDR psychotherapist in Berkeley, incorporates empowerment into her specialties - eating disorders, dissociation, and women's issues.
- Susan Borkin, MFT, EMDR psychotherapist in Los Altos, specializes in the use of writing and journalling to help people free their creative potential - visit the site for workshop information.

- The EMDR Portal opens the door to a host of EMDR resources, discussion forums, and links to EMDR practitioners with informative websites, hopefully this one.

- The Rocky Mountain EMDR Training Institute offers small, individualized trainings by Molly Gierasch, Ph.D., EMDR Institute Facilitator and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, as well as educational programs to deepen and enrich EMDR therapy.
